A North Carolina friend wrote of her experiences

I did canvassing today.. wow, that was an experience. . . . The last set of statistics for NC early voting were 2.3 million votes already cast, and that is about 67% of *all* the votes cast in NC for the 2004 election. In NC this is bound to be a record election turnout. I really hope we can swing this state blue!
