Astronaut Kelly: From Space, Earth looks "Fragile, Sickly"

This is a very sad story--a tragic one that is being ignored in the stupid political fighting (like the ridiculous display we saw onstage at the GOP "debate" tonight.) As the right wing Presidential wannabes proved tonight to everyone, they definitely are NOT ready for the job, and the GOP is being revealed, for all to see, as the "Know-Nothing" party. The Republican Party has been devolving for many decades, but it seems to have reached its nadir this year. I mean, how much lower can it go, with bully boys yelling at each other the equivalents of "Your mother wears Army boots!" and "Your brother stinks!"? If this is what they are presenting to us as their best and brightest, anyone with an iota of intelligence can see the GOP is in deep trouble (brought on by their own low consciousness as represented by the Tea Party). Their candidates are like cavemen compared to the Democrats' intelligent candidates who are actually addressing the important issues facing our world.
THE MOST IMPORTANT issue is the dire state of the planet on which we live!!! The Earth cannot continue to sustain life if we keep ignoring her plight, caused by us, the human beings who live here! Even the astronauts are pointing this out to us in undisguised anxious concern. Bernie Sanders is the only major candidate actually sharing that concern about the fate of our planet -- our home! What does it matter about ANYthing else if our planet is dying because of human ignorance and mistreatment? We (and All of Mankind) are being presented with the greatest challenge that could ever be imagined, and we are IGNORING it!!! Even with 99% of all scientists in agreement as to the dangers facing us, we still have the caveman political party in the U.S. (supposedly the greatest nation in the world) grunting and throwing spears in denial of the evidence before their very eyes.
I am so sorry for the Gigantic problems being handed down by my generation to my kids and grandkids. We have not been good stewards of our planet, whose health and ability to sustain life is totally out of balance from the pollutions of all kinds that besiege her -- and us. Yet, our driven-by-greed leaders, corporations and Wall Street keep counting their shekels and never look up to see what they/we have wrought.
Look around you--at the candidates for President. Listen to them. Then vote for the one who makes the most sense, in terms of even continuing viability of life on our home planet. It may be the most vital decision, with far-reaching consequences, that you will ever make.
This is an important story to read. It should also compel us to take action. The hour is late...late...late.
If not now, when? If not you, who? -- Hillel
