Although we don't want to throw the baby out with the bathwater, and it is important to understand that some pharmaceutical drugs are necessary to keep people alive, what this intelligent doctor is saying should definitely be taken into consideration. He tells the truth. The facts and figures speak for themselves, and we all know that Big Pharma is out to make as much money as they can -- and damn the statistics and the people who are adversely affected by their products. Because he speaks the truth, Dr. Gotzsche has been hounded, vilified and threatened by Big Pharma, but won a case against them in court, citing facts that couldn't be refuted. The comment in red in the last sentence below is mine.
Dr. Peter Gøtzsche leads the Nordic Cochrane
Centers in Copenhagen, Denmark. Two
hundred thousand Americans, he says, die
every year from taking pharmaceutical drugs,
the third-leading cause of death -- half of
whom while simply following their doctors'
orders.
Gøtzsche says that large pharmaceutical
companies are no different than organized
crime or the mafia. The companies buy off
influential lawmakers, ministers of health and
medical academics -- effectively silencing
criticism by anyone with significant influence.
By taking fewer drugs, claims Gøtzsche,
people could live far longer lives. (AMEN to This!)
