Church officials trying to keep up with Pope Francis's Remarks

POPE FRANCIS' CONTROVERSIAL REMARKS PROMPT VATICAN DAMAGE CONTROL

Interesting story!  As we all could have predicted, the Catholic Church authorities in the Vatican are scrambling furiously in Pope Francis' wake, trying to maintain damage control over his words.  But they are failing in the attempt, as he goes blithely on, making extraordinary comments for a Pope, .  Francis has chosen to live in the Vatican hotel surrounded by people, rather than in the much more private Palace rooms occupied by all former Popes.  He's made a smart choice in this, perhaps prompted by the deaths of previous Popes (Pope John Paul I, Pope John 23rd) who died suddenly in the Papal apartments after announcing big changes in the church and bringing in more liberal views.  Uh oh, not allowed.  There may be less chance for Francis in the hotel to be left alone with the unholy Cardinals who see their power eroding under his reign.  Francis is becoming an extremely popular Pope among the laity -- and his sudden demise might not be taken as meekly and mildly by the faithful as were the deaths of the previous Popes.  The longer Francis reigns, and the more beloved he becomes by the people, the harder it will be for the Vatican Death Squad to do away with him and keep the church rolling along in the way they want.  They're losing control over the masses/Masses (pun intended (~.~)) and they know it.  It's fun to watch this little game being played out.

As an aside, Francis is supposed to be the last Pope, according to mystics who have had visions of the Catholic Church and its continuance on the planet.  The St. Malachy predictions are the best known, but there are others -- and all have predicted Francis as the last Pope of the church.  Does this mean the Church will cease to exist (at least in its present form) after Francis' departure from the Papal throne?  All the signs are there for that -- the loss of so many followers, the revelations of the sexual abuse of children by priests, the scandals surrounding the Vatican bank, the "retirement" of Pope Benedict (with much unrevealed about what really prompted it), etc., etc.
