Incredible Graphene...a new technological discovery

Just received the following report about Graphene from a friend.  It's something for stock investors to invest in, that's for sure.  (See article on this at: http://www.theguardian.com/business/2013/nov/20/applied-graphene-materials-agm-shares-market-debut).  Just plug in the word Graphene on Google and see what comes up!

I am including additional information that I have learned through years of curiosity, study, reading, meeting military and government people at seminars, etc.  The full story comes together neatly, like a jigsaw puzzle, when you have collected enough informational pieces:

Graphene sounds just like the thin, strong, bendable material that was found in the debris of the 1947 UFO crash in Roswell, New Mexico.  Since then (as anyone who has paid attention to military and government informants trying so hard to tell their stories but being ignored by mainstream media), aliens are now working on our planet and are no doubt helping us to technologically evolve (as told by Philip Corso in his book The Day After Roswell).  As an Army Lt. Colonel, Corso was given the job of bringing new technology of alien origin to our industries where they were reverse-engineered.  The following is taken from Wikipedia re. Corso (who told his story as he was dying from cancer--and desperately wanted to get the information out before his death):

In his book The Day After Roswell  Corso claims he stewarded extraterrestrial artifacts recovered from a crash near Roswell, New Mexico, in 1947.

Corso says a covert government group was assembled under the leadership of the first Director of Central Intelligence, Adm. Roscoe H. Hillenkoetter (see Majestic 12). Among its tasks was to collect all information on off-planet technology. The US administration simultaneously discounted the existence of flying saucers in the eyes of the public, Corso says.

According to Corso, the reverse engineering of these artifacts indirectly led to the development of accelerated particle beam devices, fiber optics, lasers, integrated circuit chips and Kevlar material.

In the book, Corso claims the Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI), or "Star Wars", was meant to achieve the destructive capacity of electronic guidance systems in incoming enemy warheads, as well as the disabling of enemy spacecraft, including those of extraterrestrial origin.

Other military people since Corso have not only verified the information he gave, but tell us that in underground bases all over the world,  Earth humans are working with aliens who are far beyond us technologically.  The leaps and bounds being made in the development of advanced technology in computers and Star Wars weaponry can no doubt be linked to this cooperative (coerced? we can only guess...) endeavor.  Graphene sounds exactly like the material  Major Jesse Marcel   brought home to show his wife and son from the debris field of the Roswell crash.  Apparently, decisions have been made that it is time to introduce this material to the Earth human public and incorporate it into our technology.  God only knows where we will be going from here...

So much to learn....so much being kept from us...  And now, here is the intriguing information sent by my friend re. Graphene:

A Global Threat

Fukushima Fallout Damaged the Thyroids of California Babies

A new study of the effects of tiny quantities of radioactive fallout from Fukushima on the health of babies born in California shows a significant excess of hypothyroidism caused by the radioactive contamination travelling 5,000 miles across the Pacific. The article will be published next week in the peer-reviewed journal Open Journal of Pediatrics.

Congenital hypothyroidism is a rare but serious condition normally affecting about one child in 2,000, and one that demands clinical intervention – the growth of children suffering from the condition is affected if they are left untreated. All babies born in California are monitored at birth for Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) levels in blood, since high levels indicate hypothyroidism.

Joe Mangano and Janette Sherman of the Radiation and Public Health Project in New York, and Christopher Busby, guest researcher at Jacobs University, Bremen, examined congenital hypothyroidism (CH) rates in newborns using data obtained from the State of California over the period of the Fukushima explosions.

Their results are published in their paper Changes in confirmed plus borderline cases of congenital hypothyroidism in California as a function of environmental fallout from the Fukushima nuclear meltdown. The researchers compared data for babies exposed to radioactive Iodine-131 and born between March 17th and Dec 31st 2011 with unexposed babies born in 2011 before the exposures plus those born in 2012.

Confirmed cases of hypothyroidism, defined as those with TSH level greater than 29 units increased by 21% in the group of babies that were exposed to excess radioactive Iodine in the womb [*]. The same group of children had a 27% increase in ‘borderline cases’ [**].

Contrary to many reports, the explosion of the reactors and spent fuel pools at Fukushima produced levels of radioactive contamination which were comparable with the Chernobyl releases in 1986. Using estimates made by the Norwegian Air Laboratory it is possible to estimate that more than 250PBq (200 x 10¹⁵) Bq of Iodine-131 (half life 8 days) were released at Fukushima.

This is also predicted by comparing the Caesium-137 estimates with I-131 releases from Chernobyl, quantities which caused the thyroid cancer epidemic in Byelarus, the Ukraine and parts of the Russian Republic.

More on this later. At Fukushima, the winds generally blew the radioactive iodine and other volatile radionuclides out to sea, to the Pacific Ocean. The journey 5,000 miles to the West Coast of the USA leaves a lot of time for dispersal and dilution. Nevertheless, small amounts of I-131 were measured in milk causing widespread concern.

The authorities downplayed any risk on the basis that the “doses” were very low; far lower than the natural background radiation. The University of Berkeley measured I-131 in rainwater from 18th to 28th March 2011 after which levels fell. If we assume that mothers drank 1 litre of rainwater a day for this period (of course they didn’t) the current radiation risk model of the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) calculates an absorbed dose to the adult thyroid of 23 microSieverts, less than 1/100th the annual background “dose”. The foetus is more sensitive (by a factor of about 10 according to ICRP) but is exposed to less as it is perhaps 100 times smaller.

So this finding is one more instance of the fact that the current radiation risk model, employed by the governments of every nation, is massively insecure for predicting harm from internal radionuclide exposures or explaining the clear observations.

The Fukushima catastrophe has been dismissed as a potential cause of health effects even in Japan, let alone as far away as California. And on what basis? Because the “dose” is too low.

This is the mantra chanted by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the World Health Organization (WHO, largely the same outfit), and the United Nations Scientific Committee on the Effects of Atomic Radiation (UNSCEAR). And let’s not forget all the nuclear scientists who swooped down on Fukushima with their International Conferences and placatory soothing presentations.

This chant was heard after Chernobyl, after the nuclear site child leukemias; in the nuclear atmospheric test veterans cases; and in all the other clear situations which in any unbiased scientific arena would long ago have blown away the belief that low level internal exposures are safe.

But this one-size-fits-all concept of “dose” is the nuclear industry’s sinking ship. It provides essential cover for the use of uranium weapons, whether fission bombs or depleted uranium munitions; for the development of nuclear power stations like Hinkley Point; the burying of radioactive waste in landfills in middle England; releases of plutonium to the Irish Sea from Sellafield (where it drifts ashore and causes increases in cancer on the coasts of Wales and Ireland); and most recently, for the British Governments denial of excess cancers among nuclear test veterans.

This new study is not the first to draw attention to the sensitivity of the unborn baby to internal fission products. In 2009 I used data supplied to me when I was a member of the UK government Committee Examining Radiation Risks from Internal Emitters (CERRIE) to carry out a meta-analysis of infant leukemia rates in five countries in Europe: England and Wales, Germany, Greece, and Byelarus.

There had been an unexpected and statistically significant increase in infant leukemia (age 0-1) in those children who were in the womb during the (whole body monitored) increased levels of Caesium-137 from Chernobyl. The beauty of this study (like the TSH study) is that, unlike the Sellafield child leukemias, there is really no possible alternative explanation.

It was the low “dose” of Caesium-137 that caused the leukemias. And the dose response trend was not a straight line: The effect at the very low “dose” was greater than at the very high “dose”. Presumably because at the high doses the babies perished in the womb and could not, therefore, develop leukemia. I published the results and drew attention to the failure of the ICRP model in the International Journal of Environment and Public Health in 2009.

I had published a paper on this infant leukemia proof of the failure of the risk model inEnergy and Environment in 2000, and also presented it in the same year at the World Health Organisation conference in Kiev. It was there that I first really came up against the inversion of science deployed by the chiefs of the IAEA and UNSCEAR. The conference was videofilmed by Wladimir Tchertkoff and you can see his excellent documentary, which made it to Swiss TV, Atomic Lies, re-released in 2004 as Nuclear Controversies (link to youtube, 51 minutes).

For what is done by these people is to dismiss any evidence of increased rates of cancer or any other disease by shouting at it: “the doses were too low”. In this way, reality is airbrushed away. What is this quantity “dose”? It is a simple physics-based quantity which represents the absorption of energy from radiation. One Sievert of gamma radiation is one Joule per kilogram of living tissue.

This might work for external radiation. But it doesn’t work for internal exposures to radioactive elements which can produce huge effects on cellular DNA at low average “doses”. It is like comparing warming yourself in front of the fire with eating a hot coal. Or comparing a punch to stabbing. Same dose, same energy. Very different effects.

This “dose” scam has been used to dismiss real effects since it was invented in 1952 to deal with the exposures from nuclear weapons development and testing. For those who want to dig deeper into the science there is a recent book chapter I wrote in the book New Research Directions in DNS Repair.

The most scary instances of the sensitivity of the foetus to radiation are the sex ratio studies of Hagen Scherb, a German biostatician and member of the European Committee on Radiation Risk (ECRR). With his colleague Christina Voigt he has published a series of papers showing a sudden change in the sex ratio of newborns after various radiation exposure incidents.

Sex ratio, the number of boys born to 1,000 girls is a well accepted indicator of genetic damage and perturbations in the normal ratio of 1,050 (boys to 100 girls) are due to the deaths before birth of radiation damaged individuals of one sex or the other depending on whether the father (sperm) or mother (egg) was most exposed.

We found such an effect (more girls) in our study of Fallujah, Iraq, where there was exposure to Uranium weapons. But Scherb and Voigt have looked at the major catastrophes, Chernobyl, the weapons tests fallout, near nuclear sites in data from many countries of the world. Huge datasets.

They estimate that millions have babies have been killed by these subtle internal radiation exposures. The nuclear military project is responsible for an awful lot of deaths. In years to come I believe this will eventually be seen as the greatest public health scandal in human history.

Of course, the exposure to radio-Iodine is associated with thyroid cancer in children. There was a big rise of thyroid cancer in Byelarus, the Ukraine and the Russian Republic after Chernobyl. The situation at Fukushima seems set to echo this, despite the reassurances from the authorities that there will be no effects.

Our paper reports 44 confirmed thyroid cancer cases in 0-18 year olds in Fukushima prefecture in the last six months (a figure that has since risen to 53). In the hypothyroidism paper we discuss the 44 cases relative to the population and calculate that this represents an 80-fold excess based on national data prior to the Fukushima Iodine releases.

This presents a severe challenge to Dr Wolfgang Weiss of the UN and WHO, who stated last year that no thyroid cancers could result from the Fukushima disaster as the “doses were too low”. How does he explain the 80-fold increase in this normally rare condition?

Or rather, when will he admit that the entire scientific model that underpins his views is fraudulent? And that nuclear radiation is – roughly speaking – 1,000 times more dangerous to human health than he is letting on?

The Cheney Way:  Throwing Your Sister Under the Bus for Political Gain.  The Apple didn't fall far from the Tree.

WASHINGTON -- Looks like the holidays are going to be, shall we say, a bit awkward for the Cheney family.

Actually, more than a bit. A feud between the former vice president's daughters emerged into public view when Liz Cheney, who is trying to win a Senate seat from Wyoming by pandering to the far-right Republican base, went on "Fox News Sunday" and declared her opposition to gay marriage.

She said the question should be left up to the states, but added, "I do believe in the traditional definition of marriage."

Her sister, Mary Cheney, reportedly was watching at the home she shares with her wife, Heather Poe, and their two children. To understate, the Cheney-Poe household was not amused.

Mary Cheney responded via her Facebook page. "Liz," she wrote, "this isn't just an issue on which we disagree -- you're just wrong -- and on the wrong side of history."

Poe's reaction, also posted on Facebook, was more elaborate -- and more pointed. I quote it in full:

"I was watching my sister-in-law on Fox News Sunday (yes Liz, in fifteen states and the District of Columbia you are my sister-in-law) and was very disappointed to hear her say 'I do believe in the traditional definition of marriage.'

"Liz has been a guest in our home, has spent time and shared holidays with our children, and when Mary and I got married in 2012 -- she didn't hesitate to tell us how happy she was for us.

"To have her now say she doesn't support our right to marry is offensive to say the least.

"I can't help but wonder how Liz would feel if, as she moved from state to state, she discovered that her family was protected in one but not the other.

"I always thought freedom meant freedom for EVERYONE."

Poe would make a good columnist. Her writing is clear and forceful, and also slyly clever. Note the phrase "as she moved from state to state." This highlights perhaps the biggest problem Liz Cheney faces in her campaign to oust Sen. Mike Enzi in next year's GOP primary: the perception that she's nothing but an ambitious carpetbagger from the Virginia suburbs of Washington, D.C., whose sole reason for moving to Wyoming was to capitalize on her famous father's political history in the state.

Which happens to be true.

As Poe ably demonstrates, Liz Cheney is also the sort of person who would not only throw her own sister under the bus but also effectively do the same to her sister's young son and daughter. I don't think she's going to win the Auntie of the Year award.

It's enough to make you feel sorry -- almost -- for family patriarch Dick Cheney. I say almost because he has been uncritically supportive of Liz Cheney's campaign, at least publicly. He and Lynne Cheney said in a statement Monday that "Liz’s many kindnesses shouldn’t be used to distort her position." But the former vice president at least has had the decency to support his lesbian daughter and her family -- and to wish her the same domestic happiness and stability his non-lesbian daughter enjoys.

Nearly a decade ago, Dick Cheney took what was then the bold position that it was none of the federal government's business if gay people wanted to get married. Four years ago, he forthrightly expressed support for same-sex marriage. He's still waiting for his party to catch up.

In that sense, the tension between the Cheney sisters reflects the larger struggle within the Republican Party to keep pace with a changing America. Same-sex marriage is now legal in 14 states and the District of Columbia; Hawaii will join the fold on Dec. 2 when a new law goes into effect. The Supreme Court has ruled unconstitutional a law denying federal recognition and benefits to same-sex married couples. Many of the states that ban gay marriage also banned interracial marriage until a sweeping Supreme Court ruling in 1967. It's clear which way the wind is blowing.

There ought to be brave Republican politicians willing to lead the party in the direction the nation is headed. But according to the conventional wisdom, winning a GOP primary means kowtowing to party's activist base -- which means saying you oppose gay marriage, whatever your actual view might be.

Liz Cheney has shown herself to be anything but brave. The irony, however, is that she's still being attacked in Wyoming as insufficiently doctrinaire against gay marriage.

The Cheney sisters, once extremely close, reportedly haven't spoken since the summer. What price political ambition?

Far be it from me to distract from the important blaming and shaming around the Obamacare website. But if we do have a minute left for our actual health, can we talk about the radiation threat that seems to be soaring on the Pacific?

So as not frighten anyone unduly, I’ll quote the calm people at Reuters:

“The operator of Japan's crippled Fukushima nuclear plant will as early as this week begin removing 400 tons of highly irradiated spent fuel in a hugely delicate and unprecedented operation fraught with risk.”

That’s Reuters. Nuclear researcher Harvey Wasserman says things more to the effect of “What the...?"

The point is, since an earthquake and tsunami that hit the Fukushima Daiichi Plant in March of 2011, the fuel rods at Reactor Number four have been in dangerously delicate shape. They can’t heat up, be exposed to air or break without releasing deadly gas, but the cooling pool they’ve been resting in is leaky and corroded by seawater and could never withstand another tremor or quake.

Starting any day now, Tepco, or Tokyo Electric, is going to begin plucking more than 1,500 brittle and potentially damaged fuel assemblies out of where they are and placing them in new casks.

Each assembly contains some 50-70 spent fuel rods, weighs around 660 pounds and measures 15 feet long. And I did mention the pool is 100 feet up? Operations like this are usually done by robot, but here it has to be done by hand because the rods are out of place and the pool’s still littered with junk.

In the GRITtv studios this week, Wasserman compared the operation to the fairground game of lowering a clunky mechanical claw into a crowded glass box to snag a prize.

I for one, usually drop it.

It’s important we do more than hold our breath. After years of mistakes, cover-ups and fibs, nuclear watchers don’t want to give TEPCO another chance. 150,000 have people signed a petition calling for the world to take over at once.

It’s certainly a world problem. Tepco has already admitted that 300 tons of toxic water are belching into the Pacific every day and as long as a year ago, Oregon State University researchers found traces of Fukushima cesium in West Coast Fish.

What next? We can’t afford to wait to find out.

Conservatives alarmed about Pope Francis

This very unusual Pope actually seems to be practicing Christ's teaching--what a concept!  But the conservatives are sharpening their knives and he had better be careful.  We have seen many times what terrible crimes can be committed by conservatives who are upset about social issues.  We've seen the killing of gays, blacks, doctors who performed abortions, and yes, even the murder of Pope John Paul I, who also wanted to make changes that made the conservative cardinals surrounding him aghast. (Read reviews in blue below of important investigative book "In God's Name").

Unfortunately for all of us, those who prefer to have everything defined in black-and-white terms (racial pun intended) never seem to change their point of view willingly. They have to be dragged kicking and screaming to make even small changes in social/religious/political/you-name-it issues.  They would like everything to stay just the same as it was in their childhood--or in their granddaddy's day.

The people protesting Pope Francis in the Catholic church today pray to Saint Francis and revere statues of him but would have feared and ridiculed him when he was alive in Assisi.  When a Pope appears to be actually emulating St. Francis and his merciful compassion for all beings, the "orthodox" Catholics are horrified and run to the protection of cut-and-dried rules and dogmas.  There appears to be no room for growth or change in their world--or for expansion of the heart.

So....what do they do when someone threatens their cherished ideals?  Well, we've already seen what some of the most fanatical conservatives are capable of.   Pope Francis is walking in dangerous territory, but I get the feeling he is more attuned to love than to fear.

David Yallop is a highly regarded investigative journalist and "seeker of justice." He has overturned opinion with every book he has written, continuously uncovering injustice and truth in his research into the Derek Bentley case, Carlos the Jackal, and the murder of John Paul I.

This is a difficult book to digest for faithful Roman Catholics like myself. It is the story of a wonderful priest who loved the poor and wanted the church to improve the quality of life for Catholics. Pope John Paul the First was a man who would not seek to impose christian solutions on non-Christians; he was someone who was sensitive to social problems and open to dialogue; with a commitment to the search for unity; a good pastor, a good shepherd in the way that Jesus was; a man who sincerely believed that the church should not be out of date but be a relevant, nurturing factor in the lives of Catholics worldwide. However, I think it is important for all interested in the pursuit of truth to read this compelling book and drawn one's own conclusion. The evidence is hard to ignore. The conclusion is based on facts. It is truly hard to imagine but I am now convinced that Pope John Paul the First was murdered because he dared to promote positive change and rid the Vatican of corrupt banking practices. Highly recommended.

When I first started reading the book, I thought well,it might be interesting to learn some more about the Vatican. I didn't know it was going to be so breathtaking. I remember I heard my father comment when pope John Paul I died that he has definitely been murdered. I was young at the time and knew nothing of the ways of our world. After reading In God's Name, I have no doubt that there was a murder. Mr. Yallop's certainly knows how to conduct a research and more importantly, how to write his conclusions without passion (although his feelings do transpire and his positions with respect to corruption and crime are very clear).

However, for myself, the important part of the book was the description of Pope John Paul I. The life of this charismatic man, this priest of Christ, is simply beautiful. And the Catholic Church has lost with his death its chance to become what it never should have ceased to be: the church of the poor. This book for me was full of the spirit of papa luciani. And the corruption, the crimes, were set on one side, and this true priest on hte other. And somehow, He weighed much more in the balance.

Corruption and crime, wars all around the world, conflicts in the middle east area moved by the interest of the few, all this is the reality of our daily life. To know that we can do little to avoid a war because it would be bad for business bears a great dose of despair in itself.

But then, the good news will not come from the leaders. Only from the humble and poor men and women who dedicate their lives to relieve other people's pain and suffering. The leaders will never be allowed to be that. In a way, maybe papa luciani should never have become pope.Read more ›

If one wants the facts about the Great Vatican Bank Scandal turn to "Pontiff' If one wants the most comprehensive published record of all of the known facts surrounding the mysterious death of this good man turn to "Murder in the Vatican" by Lucien Gregoire. The latter is also the only existing biography of this Pope - of his struggles as an impoverished child - as a revolutionary priest as an outspoken bishop - and as a compassionate cardinal. It is written by a man who spent much time with this Pope.

A mere 33 days after Albino Luciani became Pope John Paul I, he died. To the date, the cause of death remains unknown or at least it remains undisclosed to the public. No autopsy was preformed. No official certificate of death was released.

Author David Yallop follows the footsteps of Albino Luciani and chronicles his life and journey to Rome. Yallop reveals the process and speculates on the politics of the election of John Paul I. His investigation provides a detailed sketch of the final hours of Pope John Paul I, drawn minute by minute.

In the book, Yallop names six individuals who had much to lose under the reign of John Paul I. He asserts that these individuals: a Bishop; two Cardinals; two bankers; and the head of a secret organization, P2; applied the "Italian Solution" either alone or in some combination. Now twenty years after this book was first published the author's website claims that the central questions raised remain unanswered and the frightening accusations are still undisputed.

I found Yallop's development of the cases of motive for the six suspects to be strong. Although motive does not equal guilt, it does help make Yallop's theory of murder plausible.   Wonderfully, author Yallop has included pictures, lots of them.

The coverage gap was created when 25 states refused to accept the expansion of Medicaid under Obamacare. The people who fall into this gap make too much money to qualify for Medicaid and not enough to qualify for Obamacare subsidies in their state insurance exchanges. If they lived elsewhere, they would probably get insurance. But because they live in a state that refused the new health care law, they likely will remain among the nation’s uninsured poor after Obamacare coverage kicks in come January.

The coverage gap has been treated as a political issue, but there is a religious irony to the gap that has been ignored.

Most of the people who fall into the coverage gap live in the Bible Belt, a 14-state region in the South stretching from North Carolina to Texas and Florida. The Bible Belt is the most overtly fundamentalist Christian region in the country, filled with megachurches and pastors who are treated like celebrities.  All but two Bible Belt states have refused to accept the Medicaid expansion under Obamacare.

Should Bible Belt pastors say anything publicly about the millions of poor people in their communities stranded by the coverage gap? Is it anti-Christian for state leaders to turn down help for the people Jesus called “the least of these"? Or should pastors say nothing publicly about such issues because they are strictly political?

The Elite Super Rich Don't Need the Middle Class Anymore (or so they think)

The following article tells the sad tale of what has happened in our country because we allowed huge tax cuts for the rich, manufacturing/marketing globalization and the reduction/elimination of corporate regulations, resulting in runaway capitalism. Don't know if you've noticed, but we no longer live in a democratic republic.  It is now an oligarchy. The Super Rich Think They Don't Need Our Middle Class Infra-structure

America is falling apart — and this nation's super-rich are to blame.

There was once a time in America when the super-rich needed you, and me, and working-class Americans to be successful.

They needed us for their roads, for their businesses, for their communications, for their transportation, as their customers, and for their overall success.

The super-rich rode on the same trains as us, and flew in the same planes as us. They went to our hospitals and learned at our schools.

Their success directly depended on us, and on the well-being of the nation, and they knew it.

But times have changed, and the super-rich of the 21st century no longer think that you and I are needed for their continued success.

And in some ways, they have given up on America, period.

As Paul Buchheit brilliantly points out over at AlterNet, "As they accumulate more and more wealth, the very rich have less need for society. At the same time, they've convinced themselves that they made it on their own, and that contributing to societal needs is unfair to them. There is ample evidence that this small group of takers is giving up on the country that made it possible for them to build huge fortune." 

Buchheit goes on to say that, "The rich have always needed the middle class to work in their factories and buy their products. With globalization this is no longer true... They don't need our infrastructure for their yachts and helicopters and submarines. They pay for private schools for their kids, private security for their homes. They have private emergency rooms to avoid the health care hassle. All they need is an assortment of servants, who might be guest workers coming to America on H2B visas, willing to work for less than a middle-class American can afford"

Unfortunately, these millionaires and billionaires who have given up on America and on the working class are in control of the political process in this country.

They have brainwashed Republicans into thinking that the success of working-class Americans no longer matters for the future of this nation.

As a result, Republicans are no longer investing in things that have traditionally made America - and the working-class - successful.

Take America's infrastructure for example - or lack thereof.

According to the American Society of Civil Engineers annual report card on America's infrastructure, America's infrastructure is a mess. 

Our roads are falling apart, our transportations systems are in turmoil, and our energy and electrical systems are stuck back in the 1900's.

A new graph released by investment research firm BCA shows why. 

Non-defense related infrastructure spending was around $325 billion per year when George W. Bush stepped foot inside of the White House.

Today, it's around $235 billion per year, a $90 billion drop in funding from when Bush took office.

Republicans, brainwashed by America's super-rich, have repeatedly refused to fund comprehensive infrastructure spending bills, all in the name of austerity.

But cutting funding to the nation's infrastructure isn't the right way to address American's debt or spending problems. And it certainly isn't the right way to rebuild this nation.

As Cardiff Garcia over at The Financial Times points out, "It's also likely that much of the investment that has been forgone in the name of fiscal consolidation will have to be made eventually anyways - only it will be made when rates are higher, exacerbating the long-term fiscal outlook rather than improving it. And as Think Progress points out, "continued underfunding in this arena over the coming years will cost businesses a trillion dollars in lost sales and cost the economy 3.5 million jobs." 

The Society of Civil Engineers says that it will take a staggering $3.6 trillion investment by 2020 - or $450 billion per year - to bring the American infrastructure into the 21st century, and to avoid risking a complete infrastructure collapse.

But the super-rich don't care about how much funding is needed to save this country, as long as they have their private schools, private hospitals, private airports and private places.

The super-rich in this country are bleeding working-class Americans dry, while destroying the infrastructure of the nation that has done so much for their success.

No matter what Jamie Dimon, Charles Koch, or Shelly Adelson will tell you, America's wealthy elite did not make their fortunes on their own.

Without a strong economy and infrastructure, America's millionaires and billionaires would not be where they are today. It's that simple.

So what can we do right now to rebuild America's infrastructure and give a boost to the American economy?

First, it's time to bring an end to globalization.

We need to be protecting American jobs, instead of letting the super-rich ship them overseas and build factories in China and third-world countries.

But more importantly, we need to roll-back the Reagan tax cuts, and make sure that America's wealthy elite are paying their fair share to support our economy and infrastructure.

Right now, the burden for rebuilding America is on the backs of working-class Americans, and that's just wrong.

It's ridiculous that working-class Americans struggling to survive day-to-day are paying more in taxes than billionaire banksters and oil tycoons.

A lot has changed in America over the past 100 years or so but one thing remains the same: The success of the super-rich still depends on the success of you and me.

The super-rich still need us for their roads, for their businesses, for their communications, and for their transportation.

Our infrastructure may be crumbling, but there's still time to get America back on the road to success.

We're all in this together.

Brand new documentary. It's on streaming Netflix -- watch it as soon as you can.  It tells how the real truth about the fate of TWA 800 was swept under the rug by the CIA and FBI.  This documentary was made by the federal investigators whose reports were not allowed to come out.  They are now petitioning to have their reports and analysis included, as well as the hundreds of eyewitness accounts that were deliberately ignored by the appointed CIA/FBI investigation team, who lied about the reason for the crash (and actually interfered in deleterious ways to sabotage the investigation). Their false report attributed the tragedy to an internal explosion in the fuel area. The truth is it was an EXternal explosion caused by a missile, probably fired by our own government, perhaps by mistake, perhaps not.  How will we ever know unless the eyewitnesses are heard and the investigators' reports are allowed to be included?

Fascinating lost Disney UFO documentary

You may be surprised at how strongly the UFO presence on Earth was declared in this Disney UFO documentary, which was made in 1995 and was shown only once--and only in 5 states--and then disappeared from the airwaves forever.  When you view it, you may think, as I do, that it was meant to prepare the masses for a revelation from the government that we are being visited by extraterrestrials.  It certainly doesn't mince words in its presentation.  You would think from watching it that a government admittance of the presence and visitation of UFOs was immanent.  Yet, it didn't happen.  And this documentary was suddenly gone and never seen again. Fortunately, someone had recorded it on VHS at the time (now transferred to HD) and is now presenting it on youtube, for all to see. 

It has been rumored that Steven Spielberg was enlisted by the government to start preparing the masses for UFO understanding--and that his movies Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977) and ET: The Extra-terrestrial (1982) were efforts toward that goal.  This Disney documentary may have been another later link in that design. 
Evidently, at some point, minds were changed in the powers-that-be about how much control they would lose if the entire world population were informed of the truth about UFOs.  The rulers of our world seem to have decided we aren't ready for such a government-sanctioned revelation, or that the loss of their control over us would just be too great. Documentaries like this Disney film were pulled back from public view. 

However, little by little, earth human consciousness is being raised, despite the efforts of the powers-that-be to ride herd over our minds and keep us dumbed down and under complete control.  Many other governments (France, Spain, Russia, etc.) have opened their government files on UFOs to the public.  U.S. files have been leaked by military and government members who think the rest of us should know the truth, and some documents have been eventually revealed through the Freedom of Information Act.  It can hardly be called a secret anymore that we have been, and continue to be, visited by extraterrestrials from other planets in the galaxy and/or other dimensions.  Yet, highly credentialed government and military witnesses who are trying to get their stories out to the masses are continuously ignored and/or ridiculed by the controlled major media.  Thankfully, we still have the Internet to give us truth, if we are curious enough to search for it.

But, as discussed in the film, some 44,000 pages of secret internal memos and other documents forced out by a 1998 lawsuit shows that the FDA has lied about the safety of GMOs since the very beginning... According to Steven Druker, an attorney and executive director of the Alliance for Bio-Integrity who coordinated the lawsuit against the FDA to obtain mandatory safety testing and labeling of gene-spliced foods:³

“As I combed through those 44,000 pages of memoranda and other documents, I was shocked. Because it became clear that the FDA had lied repeatedly since 1992; they claimed that there was an overwhelming consensus within the scientific community that these foods were safe. But the overwhelming consensus within their own scientific staff was exactly opposite. These foods could not be presumed safe.

...What Monsanto and the biotech industry wanted from the FDA was a policy that created the illusion that genetically engineered foods were being diligently regulated but, in fact, impose no burdens at all; [a policy] that in fact had zero regulation. And the FDA has pulled that off masterly.”

How could such a thing happen, you might ask. Well, once you realize that the person in charge of policy at the FDA at the time was a former Monsanto attorney, Michael Taylor, the answer should become fairly easy to recognize. Taylor later became Monsanto’s vice president. And now he’s back at the FDA again as the US Food Safety Czar...

How to Avoid GMOs

There are nine primary GE food crops, the derivatives of which can be found in more than 70 percent of supermarket foods, particularly processed foods. If you want to avoid GMOs, make sure none of the following are on your grocery list or in the foods you buy, unless they are USDA certified organic:

Soy	Cottonseed	Corn
Canola oil	Hawaiian papaya	Alfalfa
Sugar from sugar beets	Some varieties of zucchini	Crookneck squash

 

Also avoid any product containing aspartame, which is derived from a GE organism, and any milk product that may have rBGH. I recommend consuming only raw, organic milk products you've obtained from a trustworthy local dairy farmer. The Institute for Responsible Technology has put together a helpful Non-GMO Shopping Guide you can download and print. They even have an iPhone app.

Your best bet, of course, is to buy organic whole foods. By buying organic, you will dramatically reduce your exposure to pesticides, hormones and antibiotics, as those are used on nearly all GE crops. Get to know your local farmers. Many are too small to afford official certification, but may still adhere to organic, sustainable practices. The only way to determine how your food is raised is to check them out, meeting the farmer face to face if possible. Yes, it does take time but is worth it if you are really concerned about your family's health.
