McCain calls himself a "Liberal Republican" -- Oops...

Freudian slip? Deliberate, in order to entice more liberal voters to him? Age-related slip? Or just a touch of Dubya-speak rubbing off on him since he forced himself to hug the pretzledent? Watch the video and decide for yourself. Oh, it's going to be a fun general election campaign! (~.~) http://minor-ripper.blogspot.com/2008/02/mccain-calls-himself-liberal-republican.html

1943 Guide to Hiring Women

Here's a sample of what women have had to put up with over the years from patronizing men--they talk about the women as if they were pets and certainly not the equals of men -- and had to be given careful instructions and be watched over constantly--AARGHHH!....Wouldn't you love to haul off and punch the guy who wrote this crap???? This actually makes me want to vote for Hillary! (As an "older woman" now, I would have a hard time "adapting myself" and of course I "tend to be cantankerous and fussy"--so please ignore everything I've just said.) ;-) I have to admit: we've come a long way, baby!

Comments from the friend who sent this: This is hilarious!!! I've got the "husky" girl thing all taken care of!! (~.~)
Ahhh... I need to go get one of my rest periods in now.

This really is very funny!

This is a lady who lives in Arkadelphia , AR. She gave CPR to a chicken

is a born comic and Terry Bradshaw's reaction is worth watching! If you

Panel recommends all kids get flu shots

My own opinion: I do NOT agree with this recommendation. Flu shots
contain thimerosol (mercury)--and much of the time, as it was this year,
the vaccine they give turns out not to cover the flu that actually makes
its way through the community. I would not give mercury to any child
(or adult) in any form. I hope parents pay no heed to this ridiculous
addition to the already too-many vaccinations our kids have to
undergo--and which often actually make them sick.

Don't stop taking anti-depressants, doctors urge

The following article tells it all. Big Pharma is probably inundating doctors everywhere with telegrammed warnings and stepped-up visits from their detail men, etc. begging the docs not to discontinue prescribing Prozac and other similar drugs! My god, imagine how much money they would lose if people stopped taking Prozac! Horrors! We can't have THAT! Nope, keep those millions of folks on drugs--even the ones proven not to work--and WORSE, the ones that actually harm them! Don't let them begin to take responsibility for their own health--mental and physical. Don't let them find out that simple homeopathic remedies (costing $5 or $6 each) often do a far better job--with no side effects! The AMA and big pharma companies banded together in the early part of the 20th century to rid the U.S. of homeopathy in favor of drugs which were far more dangerous and cost a lot more--and were far more profitable. And so it goes....the people were, once again, the foils and victims of big money and big corporations. We've all seen how the insurance companies got in on the action, too. We'll insure you and take your money, but please don't ask us to pay out!

The good news: Because more physicians are discovering homeopathy works so well, it is making inroads back into our health system--but at the cost of trillions of dollars and millions of patients lost for so many years in the allopathic realm that took over medical "health" care in our country. Homeopathy is based on like cures like -- and less is more. Open-minded doctors have discovered the almost miraculous types of cures that can be rendered through homeopathy. Unfortunately, there are very few open minds in AMA-trained physicians. It is the rare doctor who, having been trained in one way, will look for other methods--especially ones that will require further training. They fall into the AMA/pharmaceutical trap--and stay there, nurtured and cajoled by the pharmaceutical companies who wine and dine them royally. They don't stop to wonder why they are treating a symptom instead of looking for the cause of the symptom. Homeopathy goes to the root, which is why the results seem so "miraculous." It's actually very simple. If you treat the root cause with the right remedy, the symptoms will disappear. Hmmm....a little different from the western approach: you have a headache? Here, take this pain killer--one of the side effects of which is "headache." :-( You have stress and emotional problems? Here, take Prozac--(which has now been found to not even be effective)! And on and on...

I just finished reading Donna Nakazawa's new book, The Autoimmune Epidemic: Bodies Gone Haywire in a World out of Balance. In it there is quite an interesting story of a doctor who found out first-hand as a patient how the western medical system works--or didn't work for him. After having been almost killed by medical "mistakes," one of which initially incurred during an unnecessary medical test, he was forced to find a cure for himself from an auto-immune disease caused by one of the "mistakes." After having completely debilitated him, the doctors told him, "Sorry--there is nothing more we can do for you." So he turned to something his mother had told him years ago about nutrition and diet and how important a part that plays in the healing (and preventive) process. Along the way toward his cure, he discovered some essential truths. His name is Dr. Gerard Mullin, one-time head of gastroenterology in a big hospital, who is now director of Integrative GI Nutrition at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and who shares with his patients what he learned as a patient himself.

Although I know some of western medicine works well--and I certainly don't advocate leaving it completely, I think we need to expand our vision and get things more in balance. It took me too many years of thinking allopathic medicine was all we had to rely on, before I learned there were other ways. As that old Pennsylvania Dutch saying goes--and is getting more truthful all the time for me: Too soon old, Too late schmart. (~.~) :-( It pays to have discrimination and knowledge--in all things, including medical treatment choices.

Just my own opinion, of course.

Bush and McCain: NOW or THEN? Make your own judgment

It is interesting to me how controlled and quiet McCain's words are in all his speeches and comments--much like a metronome...that puts you to sleep ZZZZzzzzzz. I've also noticed in the years I've been on this planet that, often, people who speak this way are trying to hide anger that lurks just under the surface of those apparently calm, controlled, measured words. And, without warning--IT CAN ERUPT AT ANY TIME!!! With McCain, I've heard it often does. Is this the kind of man we want at the helm of our government, with his hand on the nuclear buttons? Just asking.

Imagine the kind of anger McCain may now be hiding about how the Bush campaign smeared him in 2000 and how he has had to remain "loyal" to Bush (even HUG him--YUK!) and cowtow to the right-wing fundamentalists he used to despise. Did you ever read all the smears Bush/ROVE said against McCain in 2000? Following is a sample (you can just imagine how much rage McCain must have stowed away about all of this!) Particularly, note how Bush/ROVE not only questioned McCain's temper, but also his SANITY! And now Bush is praising him and saying what a great president McCain would make. What a difference eight political years make! How could anyone trust this bunch of liars who will do or say anything to achieve their own ends--and then deny what they did--even though it is recorded in video, audio, and written media for all to see and hear?! Let's do a rewind to the 2000 campaign--and then tell me if you would vote for the McCain that Bush described in those not-so-long-ago days. To remain loyal to an evil bunch like the Republican neocons must take a lot of self-deception and denial! What a dilemma! Who do you believe, Bush NOW?--or your lying eyes and memory about what Bush said THEN?:

What Bush did to McCain in the 2000 S. C. primary

FACT SHEET:

Bush Waged Nasty Smear Campaign Against McCain in 2000
Bush Supporters Called McCain “The Fag Candidate.” In South Carolina, Bush supporters circulated church fliers that labeled McCain “the fag candidate.” Columnist Frank Rich noted that the fliers were distributed “even as Bush subtly reinforced that message by indicating he wouldn’t hire openly gay people for his administration.” (But of course there are many gay Republicans--as we all have seen--but, since they are abhorred by their own party members who will shun them if they are truthful, they have to hide and deny their sexual orientation--until it gets outed in some sad way.)

McCain Slurs Included Illegitimate Children, Homosexuality And A Drug-Addict Wife.
Among the rumors circulated against McCain in 2000 in South Carolina was that his adopted Bangladeshi daughter was actually black, that McCain was both gay and cheated on his wife, and that his wife Cindy was a drug addict.

Bush Campaign Used Code Words to Question McCain’s Temper.
“A smear campaign of the ugliest sort is now coursing through the contest for the presidency in 2000. Using the code word "temper," a group of Senate Republicans, and at least some outriders of the George W. Bush campaign, are spreading the word that John McCain is unstable. The subtext, also suggested in this whispering campaign, is that he returned from 5 1/2 years as a POW in North Vietnam with a loose screw. And it is bruited about that he shouldn't be entrusted with nuclear weapons.”

Bush Supporters Questioned McCain’s Sanity.
“Some of George W. Bush's supporters have questioned Republican presidential candidate John McCain's fitness for the White House, suggesting that his five years as a prisoner of war in North Vietnam drove him insane at the time.”

Bush Supporters Spread Racist Rumors About McCain’s Daughter.
Bush supporters in South Carolina made race-baiting phone calls saying that McCain had a “black child.” The McCains’ daughter, Bridget, was adopted from Mother Teresa’s orphanage in Bangladesh. In August 2000, columnist Maureen Dowd wrote that the McCains “are still seething about Bush supporters in South Carolina spreading word of their dark-skinned adopted daughter.”

Rove Suggests Former POW McCain Committed Treason and Fathered Child With Black Prostitute.
In 2000, McCain operatives in SC accused Rove of spreading rumors against McCain, such as “suggestions that McCain had committed treason while a prisoner of war, and had fathered a child by a black prostitute,” according to the New Yorker.

After Rove Denied Role In McCain Whisper Campaign, Reporters Concluded He Was Behind It.
A December 1999 Dallas Morning News linked Rove to a series of campaign dirty tricks, including his College Republican efforts, allegedly starting a whisper campaign about Ann Richard being too gay-friendly, spreading stories about Jim Hightower’s involvement in a kickback scheme and leaking the educational history of Lena Guerrero. The article also outlined current dirty tricks and whisper campaigns against McCain in South Carolina, including that “McCain may be unstable as a result of being tortured while a prisoner of war in North Vietnam.” (DMN, 12/2/99) After the article was published, Rove blasted Slater in the Manchester, NH airport, “nose to nose” according to one witness, with Rove claiming Slater had “harmed his reputation,” Slater later noted. But according to one witness, “What was interesting then is that everyone on the campaign charter concluded that Rove was responsible for rumors about McCain.”

Rove Was In Close Touch With McConnell, McCain-Feingold’s Chief Opponent.

Senior White House adviser Karl Rove was in close contact with Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY) during McConnell’s effort to fight the McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance Bill in the U.S. Senate. According to Newsweek, though Rove and Bush have publicly kept their distance from McConnell on the issue, “sources tell Newsweek that Rove is, in fact, in close touch with McConnell as GOP experts study the bill for hidden land mines.”

Bush Campaign Accused of Using Push Polls Against McCain.
College of Charleston student Suzette Latsko said she received a telephone call from a woman who identified herself as an employee of Voter/Consumer Research, and that the caller misrepresented McCain’s positions and asked if Latsko knew McCain had been reprimanded for interfering with federal regulators in the savings and loan scandal. Voter/Consumer Research is listed as a polling contractor on Bush’s Federal Election Commission filings; the Bush campaign has paid Voter/Consumer Research $93,000 through December 31, 1999. Bush spokesman Ari Fleischer denied the call was a push poll, but said it was important that the Republican Party remember McCain’s role in the S&L crisis.

Bush Campaign Acknowledged Making Phone Calls.

Tucker Eskew, Bush’s South Carolina spokesman, acknowledged the Bush campaign made such calls, but claimed they were not “push polls.” Eskew added, “Show me a baseless comment in those questions.”

Bush Used Fringe Veterans Group to Attack McCain as “Manchurian Candidate.”

“In the case of Ted Sampley, the same guy who did Bush's dirty work in going after Sen. John McCain in the 2000 Republican primaries is doing the job against Kerry this year. Sampley dared compare McCain, who spent five years as a Vietnam POW, with ‘the Manchurian Candidate.’”

Sampley Called McCain a “Coward” and a Traitor.

“Sampley… accused McCain of being a weak-minded coward who had escaped death by collaborating with the enemy. Sampley claimed that McCain had first been compromised by the Vietnamese, then recruited by the Soviets.”

McCain Flip Flops on 100 Years in Iraq Remark

He'll get away with this because it is what many Republicans overlook in their own candidates but, through projection, often accuse others of:
flip-flopping and LIES.

After all, they selected Bush/Cheney twice, didn't they? Bush was their choice in 2000 and 2004. McCain is their choice in 2008. Pathetic, isn't it?

Speaking of McCain, it is interesting to me how controlled and quiet his words are in all his speeches and comments--much like a metronome...that puts you to sleep ZZZZzzzzzz.

Flippity, floppity, flip, flop. Just like a fish on the deck of a boat, John McCain is gasping for the life of his campaign. Knowing full well that tying his campaign to staying in Iraq and the “success” of the “surge” (quick, McCain, explain what that means!) and that the majority of Americans just aren’t willing to buy it, McCain executes a perfect “cut and run” from his earlier statement of staying in Iraq for 100 years.

By the way, that reminds me of that “100 year thing”. My friends, the war will be over soon. The war, for all intents and purposes, although the insurgency will go on for years and years and years. But it will be handled by the Iraqis, not by us.

Huh? The war will be “over soon”??? Mission Accomplished redux? But the insurgency will go on. But that’s not a war. But the Iraqis will handle it. Aren’t the insurgents Iraqis too? Can anyone make heads or tails of this ridiculous excuse of a back pedal?

How in the hell does McCain think he can get away with this?

OMG!! BUSH PREDICTS REPUBLICANS WILL HOLD WHITE HOUSE

In your Dreams, Buddy Boy! ONLY in your Dreams! How can this idiot be so removed from reality? Is anyone in his party actually buying this crap? Do they NOT EVER take a look at what is happening outside of their little bubble of stupidity? It is a wonder to me that his own party has not thrown this brainless reject out the door! He has ruined their party--turned it into a shambles--and he now steps up to claim glory--and victory. God help anyone who still supports him and Cheney, because that person could be sold ANYthing!

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080226/ap_on_el_pr/bush_governors

Don't you just love his sentence: "
When I say I'm confident, I am so because I understand the mentality of the American people," Bush said. "And I understand the mentality of our candidates. And there's no question in my mind, with your help, 2008 is going to be a great year." Oh Yes. He "understands" the mentality of the American people and the mentality of Repub. candidates! Remember how he understood "Pootie-Poot" Putin because he looked into his eyes/soul and saw a good man? Not to mention how much he loves and understands Alberto Gonzales, Harriet Miers, Donald Rumsfeld, and on and on and on? I think this relegates to the trash can any further "understanding" and predictions by El Jerko!

How can anyone reading his comments keep from laughing hysterically at the ridiculous obtuseness of this clueless pretense of a human being? It is like a cartoon! You can't believe he is real! Truth really is stranger than fiction. Who would ever have predicted this brainless wreck is what we would see as the chosen (selected) "leader" of our land? Washington, Jefferson, and Lincoln must be screaming in their graves!

Hillary's connection to Monsanto's Aspartame

At Altitude - Chemtrails Up Close

Can't be disputed--you have to wonder what the airline pilots think of these jets when they see them laying down grids of chemtrails....Do they ever ask questions?

In the past 8 years in our country, questions have not been allowed about anything. If questions about anything are brought up by congress, investigators are ignored if they ask for documents or e-mails or any kind of truth or evidence from Bush/Cheney. So there will be no answers about chemtrails--or any other "mysteries" while B/C are in charge--that you can be sure of.

The ultimate in INSANITY: "Mercury is good for you"

Watch the short video--this is UNBELIEVABLE!

Sometimes I think I've seen it all.

Then I watch US TV.

A medical journal in the US has come out with the criminally fraudulent claim
that...get this....mercury is GOOD for the brains of young children.

This is where we're at now.

Drug companies can not only buy garbage research from corrupt scientists,
they can get medical journals to publish it and the news media to
report it uncritically.

See it with your own eyes. I could not make this one up if I tried:

Cannibals and Politicians

A cannibal was walking through the jungle and came upon a restaurant operated by a fellow cannibal.
Feeling somewhat hungry, he sat down and looked over the menu...
Tourist: $5.00
Broiled Missionary: $10.00
Fried Explorer: $15.00
Baked Democrat: $100.00
Grilled Republican (neocon-style): $200.00
The cannibal called the waiter over and asked, "Why such a price difference for the politicians?"
The waiter replied, "Have you ever tried to clean one--especially those neocon Republicans? They're so full of shit, it takes all morning!"

FDA OKs use of Avastin for Breast Cancer

I wonder how much Genentech paid the FDA for this. They stand to make zillions from expanding the use of this toxic drug to breast cancer cases. We are going in the wrong direction!!!!

EXCERPT: In December, a panel of outside FDA advisers voted 5 to 4 against Genentech's application, indicating the drug's benefits did not outweigh toxic side effects. And it costs over $100,000 a year to use!

A favorite poem

One that has much significance for us today, even though it was written in 1806.

"THE WORLD IS TOO MUCH WITH US; LATE AND SOON"

      THE world is too much with us; late and soon,
Getting and spending, we lay waste our powers:
Little we see in Nature that is ours;
We have given our hearts away, a sordid boon!
The Sea that bares her bosom to the moon;
The winds that will be howling at all hours,
And are up-gathered now like sleeping flowers;
For this, for everything, we are out of tune;
It moves us not.--Great God! I'd rather be
A Pagan suckled in a creed outworn;
So might I, standing on this pleasant lea,
Have glimpses that would make me less forlorn;
Have sight of Proteus rising from the sea;
Or hear old Triton blow his wreathed horn.

-- William Wordsworth
